Can I replace IUD right after of the doctors remove the old one?

My 5th year with the Mirena and I want to replace with the copper IUD

  • Not sure about going from Mirena to Paragard, but the literature for the Paragard says you can have one removed and another inserted at the same visit and my doctor confirmed. That would be removing a Paragard and inserting a Paragard though.
