Anybody know anything about smaller industrial-sized mixers? More info below.

My dad has been looking for something like a Hobart 10-12 qt stainless steel mixer. Brand new, they're $4000-5000 - and the organization it's for can't afford that. He's found other brands with similar products on ebay (didn't give me brands or anything) for $800-900. He wants to know if any of those cheap ones are going to be as good as a Hobart, or if there are brands he should stay away from. This is something that would not get used often, maybe twice a week a few weeks a summer, but would need to last for years. Can anyone offer any info? Or a good place to find a used Hobart? We live in a rural area, and things like this are non-existant on craigslist or other sites like that.

  • Have you checked the Craigslist section of Businesses for Sale? You can sometimes find restaurants that are going or have gone out of business that are selling off this type of stuff. Go under the For Sale and then Business.
