Who actually likes 'green bean casserole'?

its never sounded appetizing, IMO, nor does it look appetizing, IMO.

(pondering what to make for sides, for just the three of us.)

  • I'm still trying to figure out how something that contains ingredients I like can taste and look so terribly wrong together. Theoretically it should be something I'd like but it's just disgusting.

  • Don't really care for it...

    My holiday green beans: Saute a shallot in some olive (or grape seed) oil. Toss fresh beans until cooked (but not mushy). Toss dried cherries and almonds with beans. Serve with Gorgonzola cheese on top.

  • I only had it once, and my main impression was that it's WAY too salty. Maybe if you started with a homemade white sauce instead of canned soup it wouldn't be?

  • Yuck, not me. I made it once and I thought it was disgusting. I prefer fresh green beans steamed then sautéed with garlic, lemon and red pepper flakes.

  • Mmm.. I love it. It's so much better with fresh green beans though, rather than canned.. canned veggies, gross.
