Have you ever used baking soda in water for heartburn? adult content

I just did... helped a little but I can still feel the burn. Just lower now.

But I have extreme pregnancy related heartburn. I wake up at night choking on it... kind of spooky.

  • Yes, it works like a charm. Use slightly warm water for the best effect, and don't do it all the time because the sodium could raise your blood pressure eventually. But it works when nothing else will.

  • Staciandbaby, you should call your OB about taking something like Pepcid, Zantac, or Prilosec ASAP. You've talked about the heartburn before and there's an awful lot of sodium in baking soda. If it's constant, reducing your stomach acid may help a lot.

  • I will in a pinch but it's so hard to get through it. It's my last resort if we're out of milk and any form of antacid.

  • Thank you for mentioning sodium content. Milk gives me heartburn and tums just sucked lately.
