How do you keep mud from being tracked in the house when it's pouring rain outside?

It is just dumping rain outside!

I can't get my SO to take his shoes off... He just walks all over the house.... Gross!

Should my question be how to get him to take his shoes off?

  • I have a mat outside my door. I also have a runner just inide the door. I also have a tray to set shoes on and a place to sit to take them off at the door.. If he tracks in mud then hand him the cleaning supplies, each and every time.

  • Tell him he gets to clean the damn house if he tracks in mud? We take our shoes off at the door/in the garage if we have mud on them.

  • In my house - you walk in the door, the shoes stay right at the door!
I don't let anybody walk thru the house in shoes!

  • He won't remember to do it- he's like a mindless buffalo when he comes home. He ignores me when I tell him to take his shoes off then gets mad if I say it again.

.... Should I make a giant sign? "free blow jobs; no shoes allowed"

then just look at his feet and go "Oh too bad!" "NEXT!"
