How do you keep mud from being tracked in the house when it's pouring rain outside?

It is just dumping rain outside!

I can't get my SO to take his shoes off... He just walks all over the house.... Gross!

Should my question be how to get him to take his shoes off?

I have a mat outside my door. I also have a runner just inide the door. I also have a tray to set shoes on and a place to sit to take them off at the door.. If he tracks in mud then hand him the cleaning supplies, each and every time.

Tell him he gets to clean the damn house if he tracks in mud? We take our shoes off at the door/in the garage if we have mud on them.

We have a mat inside door to put shoes on. After repeating myself over and over they finally take them off or mop.lol!

He won't remember to do it- he's like a mindless buffalo when he comes home. He ignores me when I tell him to take his shoes off then gets mad if I say it again.
