I have a kids book I want to recommend for legal parents or adoptive parents to read to small kids...

Little Miss Spider by David Kirk


I just read it to my daughter and it made me cry. The last page says "When searching for your mother there's one certain test, you must look for the creature that loves you the best"

It's about lots of little spiders hatching and one searching for her mother.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

  • I...don't know how I feel about this.

    Adoptive mother and biological mother here (Never gave mine up, though)

    Our kids don't really need to be comparing who loves them the best.

  • IDK- FFA, it seems after the past few days this advice may be good not just for kids but for a few adults too.

  • I thought it was touching. I've never posted in "adoption" before though- especially with small children who aren't going to grasp the concept It might just be comforting for the mother to read? I'll take it down if it's offensive- not my intent at all. It gave me the warm fuzzies reading it.
