Book topics for boys?

Son used to love going to the library, but now that he's exhausted their selection of dinosaur books he doesn't want to go anymore. What are some topics we can get him books on that he'll probably think are "cool" so he's excited about the library again?

  • dragons. My son went from dinosaurs to dragons and still loves them. We went from dragons to wizards, to knights to other warriors to ninjas.

My son has Aspergers and this succession allowed us to introduce topics that were outside his sphere of expertise.

  • Depends on reading level.
    Magic tree house Series
    Spiderwick Series
    Lemony Snicketts Series

Find a good series so he will want to keep reading. If he is into Disney Channel, the Sprouse brothers (Zack & Cody from Sweet Life) have a series out right now. I think it is more a 5-6th grade reading level.

  • I am in the process of getting several books published. Two which would be of interest to boys....One is about a superboy....and the other is about a wild and crazy boy and a magical chair (which should be out soon). Always trying to find ways to get boys interested in reading!

  • I tutor for young kids and the boys all like:

any books about weird animals (bats, snakes, lizards, dragons, etc)
books about Spies or Secret Agents
anything science-related (try the Magic School Bus books)
books about the military, war, or guns
anything about Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh
    sport books (football/basketball/baseball)
you didn't give his age but Harry Potter is amazing!!!!
    ghosts, witches, etc.

oh and there is one kid in my tutoring group that LOVES everything that has to do with the Titanic so maybe your son will too hahahaha!!!
