Have you asked him WHY he won't help you pick the name? Is it that he doesn't care for the names you've selected to choose from? If so, have him make a list of names he likes that you can pick from.

I love Cambria, could call her Cammie or Bri or Bria for a nick name :)

I think astoria is a city btw, not sure if that makes a difference to you or not :)
