Do you have a holiday goodie recipe everyone requests?

For me, theyre not very "Christmasy", but everyone wants what my cookbook calls Fudpuckers, peanutbutter cookies baked in a nonstick minimuffin pan, then push in a mini reeses after you remove from oven. Let cool completely, then remove from pan. I make a zillion of these tbis time of year! My son in college is already begging for them to be ready when he gets here!

  • Vanilla Wafer Candy. It's surprisingly easy, and a great recipe to do with kids.

2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs, about 70 cookies
1 bag flaked coconut (about two cups)
    1/3 cup margarine or butter
    2 squares unsweetened chocolate
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 to 2/3 cup finely chopped nuts
1 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Crush cookies. Melt margarine or butter, chocolate, condensed milk, and salt. Stir in crumbs, coconut, vanilla, and nuts. Cool.

Mix again with hands and form into small balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Keep in covered container. Candy improves with age, so prepare a day or two ahead of time if you can. Makes six or seven dozen, depending on the size of the balls you roll. (The candy is rich so don't make the balls too big.) If you don't like coconut, substitute more crumbs or omit the coconut and cut margarine to 1/4 cup.
