Mommy Tax

Sometimes when I'm getting a treat or a drink of water for my preschooler, I'll take a nibble or a sip and say, "Mommy tax.

Tonight my daughter was eating her supper, which included broccoli, a vegetable she has recently decided she can't stand. She asked me to lean over so she could tell me a secret. She touched a forkful of broccoli to my lips and said, "Mommy tax."

  • Awwe so did you tax her?

She had eaten the rest of her dinner without complaining, which was a miracle in itself, so I took the tax and said thank you.
