  • Ours did pretty quickly... Now when we take them off they look lost, and want them back on.

  • Try a soft nylon collar as opposed to a stiff leather one or a noisy metal one. At first, put the collar on but don't attach a leash to it. Put it on snugly, so the puppy can't try to wriggle out of it and risk strangling itself, but not too tight. Yu should be able to slip two fingers in between the collar and the neck. When the puppy is used to the collar, you can try attaching a leash, but don't walk anywhere yet. What I've seen scare puppies is the first time they pull on the collar with a leash attached and figure out they can't go anywhere. Just keep calling the puppy to you if this happens so she learns that coming to you is the safe choice. Give lots of rewards and praise and pats.

  • No leash - too cold and she's not going outside. For as tiny as she is I only had 1 option for what kind to get. I just want her to get used to it but don't know how long it'll take. If it should be that quick, I'll hold off on it until next spring.
