My one year old, has had a cold for a little over a week. Today she has been really fussy and throwed up twice, but i thought it was just from the runny nose. Now she wont go to sleep! What can i do??

  • Does she want to be held? My son had a cold a couple weeks ago and the only way he would go to sleep was if you held him :).

  • I've heard that if they have an ear infection the pain hurts more when they are laying down. Is there any chance your lo has an ear infection?

  • Call your Pediatricians office and talk with a nurse. They are great about giving free advice on any question in regards to your child's behavior when they're sick. They should have an on call nurse that's available to talk to you at any time of the night. Right now the best thing for you to do is to comfort your daughter, hold her and rock her. If it comes down to her falling asleep in your arms just fine but when you lay her down she wakes and cries, you may need to just let her cry it out, as long as she isn't having a fit.
