Why do these idiots keep getting re-elected?

After creationism bill failed, Indiana senator will push 'truth in education' measure

He tried to force creationism into curriculum last year, and failed.  This year he wants teachers to be required to "prove" anything they teach.  If a student questions anything in any class, the teacher must be able to provide some sort of proof (like, say, a science book?)

1) an example of another complete moron who does not understand the definition of the phrase "scientific theory"  (here's a hint - it does NOT mean something not proven.  It is a collection of facts which support a claim)

2) an example of another complete moron who does not understand the definition of not making any law regarding the establishment of religion.

But I'm guessing he'd count the Bible as a valid source of fact if anyone wanted to teach creationism?

  • And before you even go there, "maybe God didn't feel like making things consistent" is not proof of a young earth, it's a very sad excuse.

  • What's the most convincing evidence for you of an old Earth?

    Geology
    Physics
    Biology
    Meteorology

If that's not specific enough for you, you can start with the nuclide evidence, the depth of the permafrost layer, and the human genome project.

  • oh dear, that was supposed to be between 6 and 10 thousand, not enough sleep last night

So you believe something that's already proven untrue. That pretty much negates the point of discussing it further.

  • "The first mistake Creationists make is that they think dinosaur and they think big, dumb, clumsy creature the size of t-rex or apatosaurus." That's not what creationists think, at least, not that I'm aware of. Creation scientists have seen the research that supports dinosaurs of all different shapes and sizes. The reason that Creationists don't find it plausible that dinosaurs evolved into birds is that birds as we know them today are present in the fossil record along side dinosaurs. The consensus used to be this evolution of birds from dinosaurs but new research shows that the theropods that they claim may be the ancestor of birds actually have more in common with alligators and alligators were also created at the same time as dinosaurs and birds, more specifically the day after birds.

  • I believe birds and dinosaurs were created during the same week (i.e. creation week)

So you believe all the birds that were first created had super powers and lived for millions of years so they wouldn't die next to any dinosaurs, resultin gin millions of years of earth's crust developing between all the dead dinosaurs and the first dead birds? And all the other animals on earth ever that don't appear in the fossil record for millions of years?
