Christmas gift for 12 year old nephew...any ideas????

Hes not into any toys just mainly expensive stuff and I can't afford anything expensive.

He's into sports and likes making things like origami, gun from paper, arts and crafty stuff.

What could I get him under $20?

  • My nephew will be 12 in April, and he asked for a camelbak water bottle. They're under $20 and have different sizes. You can find good origami books too at numerous places, some with paper some without, for pretty cheap.

  • Does he have a cell phone? You could get him a iTunes or google play card for apps. Does he have a 3ds? GameStop has used games for less than $20 (my 12 yo asked for 2 for Christmas that I got for $15 each).

  • At Big Lots they have a light that you can read/work with like a headband, also speakers for any kind of phone that he could use with a phone or Ipad. I like the gift card as well.

  • If he is into video games you could get used games at game stop for under $20 & in great shape also. You said he is crafty I know that book stores sell sets of crafty stuff such as the oragami you mentioned for fairly good prices. Kids also like cash & gift cards so that they can pick out something they would like at the store and buy it themselves....

  • Also see if you have a United Art and Supply nearby - they also have a website. Tons of craft-type supplies geared more for kids, and they have really good sales all year.

  • Do you have a Micheal's craft store? They have a Wonderful selection of DIY crafts at great prices. You could get him an assortment of craft items for under $20. Things my sons have enjoyed...Decorate your own plant pots, mugs (filled with special hot chocolates or ciders), Dream catchers, and of course Origami papers!

Crayola also makes TONS of really neat art type stuff (including many many 3D items now) that are under $20.

    Good luck and happy shopping.
