Need a great idea for our 5 year anniversary?

DH is in the marine corp. Every year since we've been married he has not been home to celebrate our anniversary. He will actually be home just in time this year. We have never celebrated one together. I want to do some thing creative that we both will never forget. Any ideas?

  • Take a horseback ride, a hayride, or a ride in a horse and carriage. Many stables provide hot cocoa or dinner afterward. My boyfriend's parents did the hot air balloon ride and it was awesome. I read about a helicopter tour in my city. Or visit the flight simulators and go on missions, either with or against each other, in WWII aircraft. Play paint ball. Try a restaurant or a cuisine you've never had before. Get a hotel room for a night or two, enjoy each other's company, use room service, see where the mood takes you. Visit the hot springs if you have any in your area. Or build a memory box by decorating a shoe box or a disposable plastic container and cutting a slit in the lid big enough for his hand to fit in. Write 52 memories about your relationship and qualities that make you love your husband on slips of paper, then have him take one slip out each week for a year. Happy anniversary!
