Would you leave your child in the tub (water included) and walk away?

I was shocked when my niece did this!
She looked at me like I was nuts for confronting her on this!

  •  <<geez, Mother of the Year! Not!! Yes 2 is way too young to be left unsupervised.  Hope she's current on her CPR certification.

  • How old is the kid? I have an 11 yr old and a 9 yr old, and yes, I let both of them shower alone. I've let them bathe alone since they were probably 6 or 7, and after they were about 5, I'd leave the room sometimes. It also depends on the kid - mine are always talking, so I'd know something was wrong if they stopped. lol

  • Rachel, you seriously leave your one year old alone in the tub? You need a smacking too. Wtf is wrong with people? Do they not watch the news or read the paper. The bathtub is the most dangerous place in the home for babies.

  • Sorry, but most tragic stories start w/ someone saying "I only turned my back for a minute"...

  • Depends on how old they are. I didn't start leaving the room til they were 4 or 5 years old, and I was always within earshot.

  • mine must sing, count, whistle, etc

my 8y/o mostly showers now but my first grader takes looooooooooooong baths. if she doesn't adhere to our agreement bath-time ends early. she usually brings a barbie mermaid and tells stories with it so i can hear her that way
