Obama has not yet responded to the petitions to secede from the Union as he promised he would do.

So do you think he will respond?

Do you think he should keep his word and respond or not?

  • I don't know if he will respond to them or not. This administration is one of the least transparent so art of me says he won't. Tat said, I don't know how those petitions were filed and who exactly he would respond to. I know that Gov. Perry said that Texas was not looking to secede so I doubt there would be any response to the people of Texas. These petitions weren't filed by the states governments.

  • I don't think he should dignify the temper tantrums with a response. Just like when your own child is throwing a temper tantrum you send them to their room and ignore their outbursts.

  • I would not say it is a pressing issue. I think the whole thing is lame would never happen, they are just expressing their distaste for the current situation. Not worthy of wasting the presidents time when there are bigger issues to deal with...

  • If you treat a tantrum like serious dissent, you give weight to the tantrum. Some things don't deserve a serious response. If you live in Texas and seriously want to secede, get a referendum on your state ballots.

  • there are probably a few other things he's worried about doing at this point...

  • I can understand why he won't respond, it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Lol what is he supposed to say, "I saw the signatures, but it ain't gonna happen. Sorry."? Everybody should have more important things to worry about.

You didn't answer the question... you deflected just like almighty obama does.

Now to answer the question... he rarely does what he says he will so I doubt there will be a response, should he... of course, he should keep his word.

  • I think they need to get this fiscal cliff mess resolved.

Can you imagine the kerfuffle this would cause if the administration addressed these online petitions first while middle class taxpayers have the potential to lose $2,000 a year?

  • A response would constitute acknowledgement. Acknowledgement constitutes understanding that people don't like him. He will never admit that.

  • The entire thing is a complete joke, and waste of time. These states are like toddlers throwing a tantrum. He knows that if they get into trouble, they will expect help from us anyway.
He has better things to do than deal with temper tantrums from sore losers who are so american, they dont want to be partt of america anymore.
