  • Is there any state where medical professionals are not mandatory reporters?
    And yes, they should be. Ignoring signs of abuse would be violating their medical oath as well.

  • They are here in MA (in all of New England actually)... it's called Mandatory Reporting... I am also a Mandatory Reporter as a Public School employee & ATC/L... if I suspect abuse I must report it

  • I think it is only mandated in some states, not nationwide at this point. It's been a while since I've paid attention so I could be wrong.

    It's usually a state law, but I doubt there's any state that doesn't have it - similar to the drinking age - state law, but the same everywhere.

  • I believe in some states it's only mandatory to report abuse on children, handicapped, and elderly. It should, however, be mandatory across the board.
