Another stupid question but I need to know...

If a person in a house has the flu, can a dog catch it? DS has been sick and our puppy just harfed all over DD's lap - granted, the kids had been messing with her but still, is it possible or coincidence?

  • No. They can get gastroenteritis and such, but it's from a different source other than what we, as humans, get.

  • Have your kids been feeding him anything odd lately?

The only things I know of that can pass between pets and humans are parasites and rabies.

  • Sounds like puppy needs a breather from the kids. : /

  • Puppy gets her food, I won't allow them to give her anything else because she's too young - I've been strictly enforcing the eating only at the table and yes, watch her & them like a hawk when there's eating going on. So no, that's not possible that they gave her anything. Thanks tessie, kids are in bed now, and puppy's acting totally normal.
