Do any stores (in America) sell Christmas crackers?

so DH & i were watching reruns of Doctor Who and saw a Christmas one where they were opening these tubes that had paper crowns and jokes in them (Christmas crackers). i figured our kids would love them and it would be a fun tradition to start. only problem is i cant find them anywhere (being a UK tradition i guess i shouldnt be surprised). i can order them off the internet but the shipping is stupidly high, like twice as much as the product costs, at every site ive looked at. does anyone know if any stores in America sell them? ive only checked the big chain stores (Walmart, Target, etc)

  • We have them every year. They come with a toy, a joke card & a paper hat. We all wear the silly paper hats during dinner! We get them at different places. Try places that sell trees & have gift shops/Christmas shops etc.

  • Party City has them, and we have a local place that's Christmas stuff year round, so if you have one of those, try there, too.

  • You can order on line and I can't remember who we got our original ones from. I make mine now but they don't pop.
If you google with you area you might find someone that carries them locally.
Wait try Nieman Marcus if you have one near you.

  • Crackers or cookies? Us Americans do not have Christmas crackers. As far as I know. We do have Christmas cookies though. I know(I think) UK call cookies, buscuits?

  • OK, when you get them, the trick to make them pop really loud is carefully grab the little paper tabs at each end, get a good grip then pull them out at the same time together fast! Have fun!
