Have a 10 year old over today....

oh my goodness, she came right in from school & did her homework, helped my 6 year old with hers, has been playing all afternoon with all of my kids keeping them busy, and is now making her OWN snack (i offered to help but she said she can do it by herself)

it really does get a little easier as they get older, doesn't it? atleast in some aspects lol

  • Yes, it really does. Also, thank you for not posting a question that makes my head explode.

I found that my kids were really easy from around 9-12, then they got a little hormonal for a while and then they were grown :( It seemed to happen in about 10 minutes lol

  • It kind of depends... my 10 yr old is the youngest which means she's spoiled by her older sisters (and by me too, I admit... she's my baby after all), and she will not do anything for herself or anyone else (at least not when I'm around). But yeah, for the most part it's easier when they're older. At least as far as some things go.

  • In some ways. I have an almost 13 yo ds and an 11 yo dd, they are a huge help with their 4 yo brother and 2 yo sister! But then you start getting in to the can they wear makeup or not? Go somewhere with their friends? Their "toys" get more expensive. There are good/bad things about all stages. The ages from 7-10 were very stable years!

  • Yes, although I think girls are easier at 10 than boys. I still have some trouble with my 10 year old, but I think in a few years, he will be easier than girls are.
