  • Like 2 or almost 3? If 2, then weight seems fine, but height seems on the shorter side. If your pedi isn't worried, then don't worry.

  • He sounds a little short , my niece is 16 months and she's 31 1/2 in and 25lbs. But you never know, he could just be a shorty. Especially if you or his dad aren't tall, but he can also have a growth spurt down the road. Like kboney said if his doctor isn't worried you shouldn't worry either.

  • sounds fine to me. People come in all shapes and sizes so he is what he is.
I would not worry about unless your pedi is. I have a two yr old going to be three sat. he is only 26lbs and 36inches. hes just a small person.

  • My son was 38 inches tall and weighed 35.7 lbs and wearing size 8 or 9 shoes at his 2 year check-up. He wasn't even on the 2 year chart anymore, but on the average side of a 3 y/o. He'll be 3 in May, and he's been in 4T clothes for a while now, size 11 shoes (or 1 in big boy shoes...) and weighs 40 lbs. He'll be a footballer....
As for your l/o - he does sound very normal.

  • Might be normal for him. You have to look at his growth curve.

My 2 year old is about 34 inches and 30lbs.

My 3 year old is the size of an average 4 year old.

My 4 year old (dang...5 year old in a week! lol) is about an 6 year old size.

    For our family...this is "normal".

  • It all depends on his exact age and previous growth curve.
Here are some 50% marks for "two years olds":
    24 months: 26.5 pounds and 33.5 inches.
    30 months: 28.5 pounds and 35.5 inches.
    35 months: 30.5 pounds and 37.5 inches.

But as I said, it also depends on his previous growth curve. If you are concerned, talk to this doctor.

  • Why do people ask "is my kid normal"? If you thought your kid was underweight or overweight, wouldnt you ask your doctor and not showboating moms?
