Help, I can't stop itching, what is this?

This is an ongoing issue with me. Itching. It's my feet, my hands, and sometimes my legs. I attribute it to hormones. I've stopped medications that I thought was the issue to rule them out. When I don't take hormones, I itch. When I take Estrogen, I itch. The only time I stopped itching was when I was on BCP.... but I had too many stomach problems with them. Ugh, I am popping Benadryl like crazy.

I've even had blood work up to rule out liver issues.

Anyone else experience anything like this and what was it?

  • As we age our skin tends to be drier. So maybe a hypoalergenic lotion every morning and night on your skin. If you have kind of scaly patches you might need a dematologist. In that case my guess would be psoriasis (sp)
On the hand we can become sensitive to things we were never sensitive to before, so it could help to change soap or laundry detergent (one at a time) to find the culprit.

  • I don't know, but I'm sorry you are experiencing this. Could it be dry skin? A new lotion? I hope you find relief soon!

  • I know you have probably gone through all this, but could it be something new your using, lotion, dish washing detergent, washing detergent, softener, body wash etc, anything with direct contact with your skin? new sheets, linens etc?
