If your son wanted girly toys, would you get it for him?

My 5 year old son wants Lala Loopsy Land toys and a barbie from the Brave movie. He also wanted my little pony.

  • Yup. I would. DS had Many, MANY dolls when he was little... and a tea set.

  • I made this a few weeks ago with no specific recipient in mind:

Never occurred to me to ask DS if he wanted it since it had so much pink, but at soon as it was done, he started asking.  The turtle is now named Aiden, and has joined the "zoo" in DS's room.

  • Well I never understood why girls could play with boy toys but people freak about boys playing with girl toys. I would get my child whatever they asked for. My dd wanted dragon toys from how to train your dragon and I got them.

  • My son chose the brightest pink fluffy slippers. I bought them for him.

I would buy the toy my child wanted.

  • Why not? I played with boy toys growing up because I was in between brothers. So, yes, I don't see any reason not to.

  • Sure. I don't think in terms of "boy" toys and "girl" toys.

  • Sure, I don't see why not. A toy is a toy.

  • Sure, it's a toy. Last year when my Son was 5 he collected all the My Little Ponies from McDonald's Happy Meals. I actually went to the drive through just to buy the toy's only. Then he would line them up at night & sit on the couch & watch the show. Now he isn't interested in them anymore & put them in a bag to save for his baby sister. Now he likes Angry Birds, LOL!

  • Maybe. If it was an easy bake oven then yes. If he wants dolls I would try to steer him more to the super heroes, gi joe or Star Wars. However, if I couldn't sway his interests at all then yes.
