1) I was abused by my first husband. I've been there done that. I left his ass. I don't think hitting him back is OK. Especially not in front of the kids. Even more so when you are in a car. You could have killed somebody.
2) He didn't hit you. You just felt threatened at that point. Now YOU are the abuser. Which means you aren't any better than the man that hits a woman.
