Anyone ever had a bad reaction to aspercreams or ben-gay type rubs?

My back was bugging me a little, so I had my dau rub some generic aspercreme stuff on my back. It felt good at first but then the heat intensified to the point my skin felt like it was on fire! It was unbearable & my skin actually turned fire engine red. I had to jump in a cool shower & wash the crap off to get relief. Now my back's not on fire any more, but still have the same dull ache! Damn, I just can't win. :0

  • Wash it off with soap and then set a warm wash cloth and some itch cream like aveno. Went away and felt better by the next day.
I never had this happen, but a friend of mine did...

  • This was a body rub to relieve sore muscles that went too far. Don't ever try that.

  • I know I'm not allergic to aspirin. It could be that it's generic or it could be the menthol in the rub. IDK, all I know is that it sucked!!!

^^^ LOL! Ouch! I knew a kid who got poison ivy in a sensitive spot once b/c he was out working in the yard w/out gloves & took an outdoor potty break. Needless to say he was very uncomfortable for a while! :p
