What are you having for Christmas dinner?--PIOC

just wondering what everyone is having--we are having ham; scalloped potatoes; green beans; garden salad; pumpkin and apple pies and cranberry sauce. Are you having a big party/gathering or what?

  • We're going really untraditional this year and having grilled tri tip, baked beans, potato salad, and hawaiian rolls.

  • I do Christmas Brunch with Tamales, Oven French Toast, Baked Eggs, and a Ham, and fresh fruit.

Then we have all of our favorite finger foods in the fridge, Baby Burritos with Avocado Dip, Sausage Balls, Spinach Artichoke dip, Tortilla roll ups, mini sausages with bbq sauce, broccoli cheese dip, cheese balls with crackers, spicy cocktail meatballs, I may be missing something here, and we put out the leftover tamales and ham with some rolls for sandwiches. This way, we can heat what we need all day as people come and go.

and of course, there's a big platter of Christmas cookies out!

  • my mom and my FIL are vegetarians so we'll probably just do stuffed shells, 2 types of taters, yams, a brussel sprout recipe i found, a cauliflower casserole...you get the idea - veggie dishes. I am starting my baking today. 3 types of cookies & a Christmas cheesecake.

  • We don't have a big Christmas dinner. We have heavy horsdoevres and finger foods (sausage balls, ham biscuits, chili, cheese and crackers, veggie trays with dip, spinach dip, etc). Each of my 4 siblings brings 2 dishes, I bring 2 and then my mom makes several but none of us spend our holiday cooking/cleaning, we spend it altogether as a family

  • I'm injecting a ham with Cajun praline honey marinade. I'll make green beans, loaded baked tater salad, endive stuffed with blue cheese and wasabi almonds, dinner rolls and homemade Mac and cheese. No desserts .

  • Noon - bbq pork & creamed chicken buns, pasta/veggie salad, cole slaw, chips.
Evening - I believe it'll be lasagna, salad, and garlic bread, but possibility it'll be meatloaf & unknown sides.
We're going to a waterpark/resort with my whole family so no big fancy meals, everything will be cooked ahead and reheated at meal time.

  • My mom is making Christmas dinner :). I will probably make an apple pie and dumplings like I did for Thanksgiving. Those are about the only 2 things I'm good at making lol so everybody always assigns those to me. I think all of our dinner food will be about the same as Thanksgiving.
