What's for Christmas dinner?

I usually do a few Cornish hen, mashed sweet potato, some type of green (mustard, collard, or turnip), and cornbread. This year, DH confessed he thought Cornish hen taste too gamey so I'm doing a full size chicken instead. I don't trust myself to cook a turkey yet. How about you all, what's on the menu for Christmas dinner? Have you purchased ingredients yet? I see the supply of some stuff getting low at the grocery store already. I bought my sweet potatoes yesterday because they were on sale, 49 cents a pound.

  • This year we'll be at a waterpark/resort on Christmas Day (have a full kitchen). We're bringing everything prepared/reheatable. Noon we're having bbq pork & creamed chicken buns, salads, chips. Supper we're supposed to have lasagna, salad, & garlic bread, unless BIL decided to make meatloaf.

  • We don't celebrate Christmas, but we still gotta eat. So this year DH and the kids decided that we will make sushi on Christmas. Sounds fun. Had a blast the last time we made sushi. Beats Chinese and a movie.

  • Christmas Day is prime rib, but our celebration is Christmas Eve, and the dinner of fishes.

  • Yep tri tip is a cut of beef popular in California. It doesn't seem to be known in many places apparently.
