Will you eat genetically engineered salmon?

The FDA has just approved it. They've been frankensteined to grow twice as fast as natural salmon.   Of course, as demonstrated by the ballot measure that failed in CA, there won't be any obligation for a restuarant or store to tell you you're eating genetically modified anything, so you might end up eating it even if you don't want to.

  • I am really beginning to hate how this country depends on mass production and less on mass quality.

  • Better living through chemistry.

Not by choice. I don't order salmon in restaurants and hopefully the grocery store I buy meat and seafood would put on there if it is farm raised (guessing they wouldn't have to call it out as Frankenfish). I try to only buy wild caught.

  • I don't care for salmon so I wouldn't eat it.

My DH loves it and SIL sends him fresh salmon from Alaska plus we have an abundance of Salmon and friends who fish for salmon here.

That's the other concern, is some of these fish getting near the wild salmon and altering the gene pool.
