Any creative ideas?

My older two kids are getting a phone for Christmas. Any creative ideas on how to surprise them with it besides just wrapping it up?

  • Hmm, maybe do something with the phone number. For example, if the number is 987-6543, maybe have them open up an envelope with the first number is 9, the second  envelope will have the number 8, and so on. Depending on their interests and age, you could either do like a scavenger hunt with the numbers or something. Or give them one envelope with the numbers cut out individually and they have to figure out the puzzle with certain clues. Once they get the numbers in the correct order, you can give them the phone and tell them that is their phone number.

  • Wrap it up and hide them somewhere. When all the other presents have been opened, call their phone numbers and have them go find their present.

  • Put it in a box, wrap it then put that in a bigger box, wrap that then put it in a bigger box, etc. OR put it in a box of something they really wouldn't want (ie a mixer, iron, etc) and see if they figure out that's NOT their present.

  • You could hang them on the tree like ornaments.
    We had a pickle we would hide and the one who found it first got a special treat.

  • Good idea, but that is actually the only gift they are getting. That's a big reason why i wanted a creative way to give it to them. Guess i should've mentioned that. Thanks for suggestion!
