I try to avoid religious discussions with
my mom, so I'm asking you all. I noticed
on Thanksgiving and Christmas, after
saying the pre-meal blessing, my mom
just said 'ok' rather than 'amen' . She
goes to a Southern Baptist church. Could
there be a theological reason for not

Maybe she likes to mix it up a little, or maybe if there were people from different religious backgrounds present she could have felt self conscious about the prayer and ended up omitting amen. Has she said amen in the past? if she has, I don't think there was any deeper meaning behind the ending of the prayer.
