  • Black eyed peas, greens and cornbread. I thought that was everyone's traditional meal? Is that only a regional thing?

  • Mrsmom - yes how did you guess? :). The peas represent coins and the greens are for paper money. It's supposed to bring fortune and good luck in the new year.

  • Around here people eat pork & sauerkraut. *GAG*
I'm with mrsmom. Depends on how hungover we are, what time we got in, if we ate breakfast before we got home, etc.

  • We do leftover snack trays from the night before not a dinner per-say... I am usually not in good spirits
We do  have a tradition for New Yrs Eve, in which we make lg snack
trays that are set out after Lunch for a brunch/dinner/bring in the New Yr food..
I will make a few cakes/cupcakes treats also and we set it up in the family room, have open invites
to friends and family if they would like to stop in and we have played games, watched movies and
    then watch the ball drop...
