Does anyone make their own fabric softener?

I found one using water, baking soda and vinegar. I wanted to know if it really works. Anyone have any other recipes?

  • I have skin issues so I have one that won't irritate my skin or my dds. I wanted to try this but I'm to scared, why fix something that's not broken lol

  • I have seen the recipe using suave conditioner- but then saw comments on it that suave conditioner has a bunch of cancer causing chemicals in it that are okay to put in your hair and rinse out but to put on your clean clothes and have it on your skin all day is bad

    your recipe sounds better

  • The only thing I have seen (yet) about making your own fabric softener is to just add some scent that you like into a gallon of vinegar.

  • It says to use 2 cups water, 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup vinegar. Then use 1/3 cup in the laundry. I really want to try it. I wonder if it clings like regular fabric softener and makes your towels too soft.....
