Do you think a 7 yr old should be allowed to ride a 4-wheeler on the streets?

Isn't there a law?

  • Unfortunately, no.

I feel they should attend safety classes, wear helmets...this should be mandatory everywhere!

I personally know what head injuries can do to you, so I'm a huge advocator for Helmet laws.

  • My 8 year old rides at my mothers house on the street and through the fields

  • What kind of street? Main roads? Neighborhood roads?
I no that where I live their are no road riding at all including in a neighborhood. They can ride off road. Although I personally would not let my 7yo ride by themselves and probably not even with a responsible adult that I trusted. But some parents are a little more carefree than me who is I guess a little overprotective about certain things.
Do I think it's safe? No
Would I let my own kids ride? No
I also think it depends on how mature they are.

  • NO!
My state used to allow kid of any age to ride them on private property, but then there was a rash of kids flipping them, and getting killed, and a few were gravely injured
Now the law says they have to be 14

  • I, personally wouldn't. But I'm super protective.
However, I to know not all States have requirements as far as age and helmets.

  • Check you city ordinances but generally speaking I would say yes there are laws, but they have to get caught for there to be consequences.

  • No way. I wouldn't allow them on a road.

  • Depends on what road it is. In my neighborhood, no problem depending on the kid. It is all dirt roads and very little traffic, mostly kids and adults on 4-wheelers. 7 is a bit young to be riding by themselves though.
