Anybody like to cross stich? I have looked in Michael's, Beverly's, they have a very small supply.

I really enjoy it, but can't seem to find any stores that carry kits. I like counted cross stitch, not stamped. More time tasking i know to count every little square! lol

  • Hobby Lobby has a kit section if you have one in your area.

I end up buying a lot of stuff online now. Most mom-and-pop stores don't survive long.

  • Wal-Mart had quite a few different kits last time I looked (about a month ago, was looking for something to give a 12 year old). I prefer to just buy the bulk ada (sp) fabric and books, and the floss I need for certain pictures - more of an investment but if you're going for a bigger project it's worth it.

  • And any fabric store should have a decent amount of stuff - not ones like Joanne's but other smaller ones that are just fabric stores - quilters shops maybe, places like that. Dry goods stores.

  • I used to always buy mine at Walmart, but started buying online straight from Janlynn. I prefer counted cross stitch, too.

  • Joann fabric has better stuff than michals last time I checked. I usually do patterns from book instead of kits and hobby lobby has a good selection of books

  • Hobby Lobby has a nice selection of kits and seperates. I order most of my things from I prefer the stamped only because you can actually use the finished product.

  • I'm at avid cross stitcher. My favorite sites for kits and supplies are:
    Herrschners -
    The Stitcher -
    Keepsake Needle Arts -
There are more, but those three are my definite "go to" places. And I love to drool over their catalogs. :0)
