As a PP said, ovulation happens in a moment, not over days. You are fertile, however, for the 2-3 days preceeding ovulation, as the sperm has to be there to fertilize the egg. That's why knowing when you're going to ovulate (using OPK's is a popular way to do this) is so helpful, so you can hit that fertile window.
