Why do I keep waking up in middle of the night?

I need advice on sleep aids. I keep waking up and it is annoying. Last night, I couldnt fall asleep and I still woke up and got 4 hours of sleep. I take Advil PM sometimes but sometimes doesnt work. Any other sleep aids I can use? Would a glass of wine help? A better pillow because my neck is stiff when I wake up?

  • Eliminate caffeine from your diet- including chocolate, sodas, coffee, tea... it will take a couple weeks before you notice a difference. I agree a different pillow, since your neck shouldn't be sore. Also study relaxation, or take yoga which will also teach you how to relax every muscle and your mind. Good luck!

  • I've found for me that wine actually makes me restless. It will make me good and relaxed and tired but I don't sleep well. Maybe try melatonin since it's natural. And yes I would get a new pillow. I slept SO much better after switching pillows. I agree with Bmat too.
