/Do you think it would work to store cereal in plastic shoe container?

I mean new ones of course! I just thought it might be easier for the kids to scoop the cereal out of those vs. the regular cereal storage containers we have already...

  • They don't seal that well though. I would suggest something more like a rubbermade or tupperwear.

  • If it's easy for them to pour and help themselves then I say YES!

  • There is usually pouring and not scooping going on with cereal containers. But if you use a scoop sure that would be easier.

  • I would be concerned about the seal as well. I think it would go stale faster than if you used something designed more for the purpose. It doesn't have to be something specifically for cereal, but any small kitchen Rubbermaid container would work.

  • We use a scoop rather than pouring because the kids tend to pour twice what they actually eat. So we went to a (2) 1/2 cup scoops and then 1/2 cup at a time after that to prevent going through a box of cereal in literally 2 days and tossing at least 1/4 of the box!
