DS, age 12, told me today that he sometimes experiences light-headedness, sudden pain in his head, and seeing spots to the point where he can't see. He said it's like bright lights flashing. I've noticed it happens when he stands up from sitting or laying down. I'm going to get him into the Dr. but can someone help explain this? Maybe you know what it could be? I'm very concerned.Answer Question

Could be alot of things he needs his heart and eyes checked. Could also be a migrane reaction. Migranes are neurological and can have lots of symptoms besides headache.

I would get a second opinion on the palpitationsjust to ease your mind. Especially since he is still having symptoms. The palpitations could be a reaction he is having because of other symptoms. I wouldn't worry but I'd follow up with another doctor or further testing.
