Weird dog behavior that's normal for a cat???

Other than the rare accident, our puppy is completely pad potty trained (the training pads). We did attempt to litter train her but she never went in the litter - we think because she didn't like the feel of the litter in her paws. Anyway, just in the last few days, she's started to try to nose something over her pee spot after she uses the pad - like a cat does with litter or some dogs do with dirt. Normal? Should we be trying the litter again? She's too little to go outside - less than 2 lbs and we've got a foot of snow on the ground.

  • My dog would do that outside. He would rip my grass up to cover where he went.

  • So she's following her normal instinct then?

  • Our puupy does it too. But, only when she pees. Not sure why. Maybe my puppy is just plain weird. Also, if you have an older cat in the house, she may be picking up the behaviour from said cat.

  • Yeah, it's just when she pees. No cats in this house so she's not learning it anywhere.
