A one row stripped knitted scarf?

I can't find a pattern anywhere! I want to make a stripped scarf for my daughter. I would like to knit it in a way that I don't have to carry the yarn . I saw a youtube video once where they knit one color and purled the next and it made a stripped scarf, but if I do that, is it a ribbed pattern? Then I'm assuming I would have to bind off in a ribbed pattern?

  • Go to Raverly and look for a pattern for a lengthwise scarf. It is don strand by strand and is time consuming. I did one the scarf came out great but it took me awhile.
