2 Bumps

Best Burger Tips! What is your secret to the best burger ever.

For me it is that we start with 2 lbs 20/80 beef and add 1 tbs of finely ground espresso with the usual salt and pepper and then cook it in a iron skillet with a about 1 tbs water in the bottom so it steams it. Top with your choice in veggies and cheese. It's the meat that makes the burger though. That little bit of coffee makes all the difference and no it doesn't taste like coffee! I was worried about that the first time!

  • Making sure the skillet is really hot, so you sear the burgers, it gives them a lot of flavor.

  • My DH adds shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled up bacon and finely chopped onions to the ground beef. Molds it into patties and bbq's. YUM'

  • I miss my grill... The fire codes here do not allow you to have one on an apartment deck... which is understandable... and the ones they have in the yard are nasty where all the kids make dirt burgers when they play...
