What would you do with an extra $10,000?

My DH has applied for an extended contract, which would mean an extra $10,000 before taxes. It's pretty likely that it will be approved, and we are trying figure out what to do with it. What would you and your family use it for?

  • I would get a 500.00 cd for each kid and bank the rest. I don't like to spend to for no reason.

  • Lump sum or spread out? Spread out, nothing. Lump sum - it would be hard to decide, there are a few things in that price range we need - dentist, or pay off our car and do a little fixing on it, or some windows for the house (which could potentially lead to more work & money), or a "new" work vehicle for DH, or a new mattress for DH & I...
