Is it okay to eat a lot of chicken?

It's the only meat we have and we are having 4-5 dinners a night with boneless skinless chicken breasts.

I know too much red meat is bad, and too much of anything is bad- but chicken?

  • I'm not even going to edit that because it's slightly hilarious- 4-5 dinners a WEEK.

  • if it is I am screwed. I have white meat 4-5 days a week. Its the only meat my family eats. Well I give my kids red meat at least once a week

  • Chicken isn't considered "red meat", IMO (depending on how it's cooked) it's a healthy protein. However, you don't have to eat meat every night.

  • I doubt it is UNhealthy if you're cooking it in a healthy way, but doesn't that get boring? my dh doesn't eat chicken so we actually rarely have it for dinner but I wish we could have it more.

  • Nope - it's a good protein and suggested in larger amounts for some diets. It's definitely better for you than most other meats.

  • Depends how it's cooked. Baked or broiled, just means you're giving your kids alot of protein, iron, and calcium. I wouldn't worry.

  • it's always baked or pan seared or in the crockpot

  • Baked or broiled chicken is healthy. Especially skinless because the fat is removed. It is much healthier than red meat. The best would be fish---salmon, tuna.etc.but chicken is good. ( Not fried chicken, though)

  • 4-5 dinners of chicken in a week, I think it is quite ok.

  • If it is not organic free range chicken then yeah you are getting a lot of chemical, hormone and antibiotics. Not good.
