If you won a lot of money would you help an ex-husband? Like pay off his mortgage?

I had a dream that I won the lottery and my ex needed my help (not likely - he is the senior partner of a law firm). Anyway in the dream I was stalling for time and then woke up. I suppose in reality I would help him - he is my child's father and overall we parted on good terms.

  • I think that if I did have kids with him I would help him, if there were no kids involved I would be more hesitant. Also depends on what terms we ended things on.

  • Not a chance in hell. He owes me $25K in child support, and hasn't seen my kids in almost 9 years. If I won the lotto, I'd be hiring a lawyer to try to find a way to terminate his rights. There's no way I'd ever do anything to help him. He does nothing to help the kids he helped create, he can suffer in whatever stupid situations he gets himself into.

  • ehhhh I dont think I would help father of my children or not. Now if he was in a real bad bind that could affect our children yes. But pay off a house for him? No way.

  • Sure.
But we don't have kids together, married young, and were each others best friend.
    We are even Fb friends.

  • Nope. He's not responsible enough to even have a mortgage. He can continue to live off his Mommy's money.
