  • I don't think I would. I think it would lead to too many arguments, and I don't want that kind of relationship.

  • Sure.. As long as the values didn't get in the way of our happiness.

  • Anything is possible, but it sure is easier when you see eye to eye on basic values.

  • I do not need to share their values only respect the manner in which they came to support those values.
If I do not respect the values, or the manner in which they were derived I will have no respect for the person and thus a relationship will not be compatible.

  • Like religion and politics? No
I've dated guys that differed greatly from me,and the cat fights were not fun!

  • You could. It might not last long, but you could try.

Answer by PartyGalAnne at 1:58 PM on Jan. 10, 2013

  • I don't think a relationship would work out very well if basic values weren't shared. There would be too many conflicts about how to view the world and react to life.

  • No. I tried that with my ex, lasted 12 years.

Answer by missanc at 2:10 PM on Jan. 10, 2013

  • No

  • Well, of course you are likely to have some differences, since you are different people, but significant ones?—probably not.
