I have a 1984 maclaren lie buggy denim color. Anyone know where I can get a replacement hood? This particular MacLaren is in mint condition,

It's a stroller too

  • I would check with Maclaren. They would know the model & what would/wouldn't fit. They are reportedly good with replacement parts. This would let you know if a current or recent style/model would work or not.

There also are people online who make stroller seat covers, hoods & harness/strap covers (custom made to fit various stroller types, which they specify) so that could be an option. If you know (from Maclaren) whether hoods for current stroller models would fit, then you could check a site like and possibly find someone who makes things to fit Maclaren items & would have a pattern for a hood that would fit. Or similarly, find an artisan on eBay (I bought Mountain Buggy seat covers from "Indi Bebe" there several years ago and they came out great. She had an eBay presence & an independent website. Search for her & see what strollers she is making covers/hoods for.)

  • Does it still have the bones? You could make one, or maybe go to an upholstery shop to see if they would do something like that.

  • Well, I don't sew and I do not have the time to go to an upholstery store to try to get this made. Thank you for the answer.

  • Thank you everybody for all of your help. Maclaren does not have what I need, at least here in the U.S. But I have contacted a group in England so we will see. I believe the only way I would get any help at all is it someone actually had the hood and remembered having it if reading my post. QuinnMae had a wonderful answer but I am not a sewer, however girlwithC gave me some similar options, but with a twist. I think I will try that, and I love Etsy.
