Is a tooth infection (decay) contagious?

  • Not considered contagious, but it is dangerous because it can become a systemic and/or blood infection. You need to get it looked at.

  • It can spread to and decay another tooth and like mavi said get into the blood but I don't believe it can spread to another person.

  • It is not transferred one person to another but it can spread to the other teeth. It is not wise to let it go.

  • The danger is a potential nerve infection. Nerve infections can travel to the brain and kill you.
