How do you feel about janitors being armed?

Montpelier, OH has decided to allow its janitors to be armed to be able to protect the school community if need be. What do you think about this?

  • I would be okay with that, providing they have had a thorough background check( hoping they have that anyways) and a mental health evaluation.

  • yikes. thinking about some of the janitors i had...they were not the kinda person you wanted having a fire arm...especially around kids.

  • Actually, knowing some of the Custodians at my school I'd prefer it! They are a pretty great group of guys ;o)

  • not sure, what if they were having a bad or something or something had gone on in their life that pushed them too far? i guess if all checks were done? i dont know tho

  • I think janitors should be vetted before allowing them to be armed. Many of these jobs are filled by people who are challenged in one way or another and it is a toe in the door type job for people getting out of jail. I want someone with a little more to be carrying a gun to protect me.
