  • Well sure. You ovulate two weeks before you would normally get your period, so although some women might not have regular periods, they just need to ovulate to get pregnant. An example of this would be a woman who has had a baby several months ago and her period hasn't returned yet. She can still get pregnant because she will ovulate a couple of weeks before she would have gotten her first period back.

  • Honey, I haven't had a period for 4 months, but I'm NOT taking any chances..... prior to that it was a year to the day... Still NOT taking any chances. A baby at 48 is NOT something I wish for.... EVER!

  • False. Periods are not a result of ovulation, they are a result of an egg not implanting.
I had an ablation, so my uterine lining is scar tissue. I still ovulate each month, but the egg can not be implanted into the scar tissue, and I cannot get pregnant.

  • Uh, yeah, I actually learned that in 7th grade when we had a thing at a girls group about abstinence - the gal doing the talk made sure we all knew and understood that we could get pregnant before we ever got our first period. And after I had all my babies (well, before too - while still pregnant) my midwife & some nurses drilled it in that I might not get a period if I breastfed but that didn't mean I wasn't ovulating or couldn't get pregnant again (too many women were having irish twins lol).
